Program Requirements

First Year

  • Enroll in the Research and Creativity course (one credit)
  • Attend the Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium 
  • Attend the Research Expo
  • Meet and actively interact with your assigned peer mentor
  • Enroll in one CURE class (three credits)
  • Create and update E-portfolio
  • Participate in the Research Learning Community

Second Year

  • Start Undergraduate Research (Faculty mentor)
  • Turn in Research Progress Report at the end of each semester
  • Attend Symposia, Workshops, Undergraduate Research Seminar
  • Become a mentor and actively interact with your assigned peer mentee
  • Update E-portfolio
  • Participate in the Research Learning Community

Third Year*

  • Continue to coduct research*
  • Present at the Symposia and Undergraduate Research Seminar
  • Apply to off campus research opportunities
  • Turn in Research Progress Report at the end of each semester
  • Submit an abstract to a professional conference
  • Submit a research paper either to a professional research journal or UF JUR
  • Update E-portfolio
  • Participate in the Research Learning Community

  * We encourage you to supplement you undergraduate career with other high impact activities including study abroad, internships, design teams, etc. You can subsitute any other high impact activity for research.

Fourth Year*

  • Continue to coduct research*
  • Present at the Symposia and Undergraduate Research Seminar
  • Turn in Research Progress Report at the end of each semester
  • Submit an abstract to a professional conference
  • Submit a research paper either to a professional research journal or UF JUR
  • Update E-portfolio
  • Participate in the Research Learning Community
  • Exit Survey & Graduate!!!
